Ceiling Fan Installation: common questions
Can you install a ceiling fan where there's only a light?
Usually, yes. We check the ceiling box and replace it with a fan-rated box or brace if needed. If there's no fixture at all where you want the fan, we can run wiring to the spot.
Can the fan and the light have separate switches?
Yes. If there's already an extra wire to the ceiling, it's a simple change. If not, we can run one, or use a wireless or smart control that splits the fan and light without new wiring.
Do you install outdoor and porch fans?
Yes — damp-rated fans for covered porches and wet-rated fans where rain can reach them.
Why does my ceiling fan wobble?
Usually an unbalanced blade, a loose mounting bracket or a box that isn't rated for a fan. If it still wobbles after the blades are balanced, have the mounting checked — a box that's working loose is a safety issue.
