Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Not always. Many homes have enough spare capacity for a Level 2 circuit. We do a load calculation first; if your panel is at its limit, we'll explain the options, including load-management devices and panel or service upgrades.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?
Level 1 uses a standard 120-volt outlet and adds only a few miles of range per hour. Level 2 uses a 240-volt circuit and is several times faster — enough to recharge most EVs overnight.
Should I hardwire my charger or use a plug-in outlet?
